Product Description
Two live sets from Godspeed 209 on KDVS 90.3 in Davis, CA. Side A was recorded in March 2012 on DJ Rick Ele’s last regularly scheduled Art for Spastics program. Side B is from a Live in Studio A split set with Monster Treasure from June 2012.
Godspeed 209 played two dynamo sets live in KDVS Studio A last summer, one of which was the last episode ever of legendary DJ Rick’s “Art for Spastics” program. These sets were compiled onto a single tape released by short-lived local record label Squirmy Records. Here is what people have to say about Godspeed 209:
“supremely fuckophonic braincell devastation” – DJ RICK
“A couple of live-on-the-radio sets from Stockton, CA’s Godspeed 209 are sandwiched together here for this release. I appreciate the joke that G209 are playing with imagery on this; with a bubblegum pink ice cream cone on the sleeve and sprinkle cookie as an insert, I was prepared for a nice lil’ happy listening experience. To the contrary, Godspeed have more in common with Pissed Jeans or some such sludge-punkers. Heavy stuff that mines from the AmRep/SubPop sound. Well recorded stuff, btw, KDVS producers are no slouches. Both sets are similar, though, so you’ll hear a bunch of the same songs on each set. I’m gonna go eat a cookie now.” – Terminal Boredom
Tapes are gold foil and opaque blue. Pro-cassettes. Handmade covers and inserts by the band!
